We aren’t privy to Apple’s roadmap for this mythical device, but I have a few theories. One involves that patent that appeared about a year ago for a Cinema Display or iMac with a slot in the side (where the DVD drive currently sits) for a tablet-shaped item to “dock in”. This might be the next step up in evolution from connecting it to an iMac or monitor with a cable, or it might be a function with benefits all of its own. Only time will tell.
